UV Rotary Screen Printing
The Smart Choice for Texture, Tactile and Specialty Inks

About UV Rotary Screen Printing
High coverage. Precise detail. Vibrant color. UV rotary screen printing rolls out the prestige. The process allows for a heavy application of ink for a brilliant, rich look. UV rotary screen label printing is a specialized printing technique that combines the advantages of rotary screen printing with ultraviolet (UV) curing inks specifically for the production of high-quality labels.
Instead of a flat screen used in traditional screen printing, rotary screen printing uses a cylindrical screen that rotates continuously as the label substrate passes underneath. Ink is fed into the interior of the screen, and a squeegee or roller forces the ink through the open areas of the stencil onto the moving substrate. This process is combined with UV-curable inks, which are formulated with photoinitiators. Unlike conventional inks that dry through evaporation or absorption, UV-curable inks undergo a rapid chemical reaction called polymerization when exposed to UV light from lamps or LEDs, causing them to solidify or “cure” instantly.
The possibilities include:
- Security effects
- 3D printing for reliefs
- Varnishing (matte and gloss effects)
- Braille
- Thermochromic inks
- Tactile printing
- No-label look
- Glitter pigments
- Serigraphic opaque white for overprinting
- Spume effect
- Fine lines
- Halftones
